My dad was a government officer used to work in Delhi He was a man with wonderful health and Sanatani habits (pure vegetarian and non smoker) . In 1992 somewhere, he came in contact with some of his old friends and started spending time with them.
very soon, we saw him smoking beedi and hukka. After objections from family, he quit beedi but continued hukka and slowly became a chain smoker of it.
He started bunking office because of hukka and started doing advocacy of it.
In early 2000, we saw major changes in his body and mindset. He started acting like a frustrated man. Soon he started living alone in his own world and disliking others.
. In late 2000, his body started showing results. At this point of time, he started taking meal at one time in a day and tea and hukka all the time. We forced him to to quit it and get back on the basics. But we failed.
Since 2010, he was like an old angry man with poor health and multiple health issues like cough, non digestion, teeth-ache, muscular pain and poor immunity. He almost left the job and most of the times he was at doctor.
In 2011, one day when I realized that he had fever for last 15 days, I forcefully took him to hospital and got the major checkups done. At the time of showing reports, I was asked to meet the senior doctor separately. His reports were shocking. His lever was almost dead. Lungs were filled with charcoal kind of stuff and respiratory system was blocked.
He was shouting of body pain……
Rest is a bad story. We tried our best but on 12th March 2013, we lost him.
Imagine those 20 years, those 20 years were very crucial for entire family. After 20 years, we realized the power of hukka. I was more than clear on why mughals implanted hukka into our society (particularly in Gurjars and Jaats).
I being a family member of Gurjar Community always wanted to safeguard all my family members from this curse. My request to all of you is to understand my life and situation and leave it right away.
I can do any kind of argument on this as I am an victim of hukka. Please leave it.

A first of its kind data released showed that compared with a single cigarette, one hookah session releases approximately 125 times the smoke, 25 times the tar, 2.5 times the nicotine and 10 times the carbon monoxide.
“A waterpipe tobacco smoking session may deliver over 20 times the smoke volume of a single cigarette,” WHO said. “Our results show that smoking hookah poses real health concerns and should be monitored more closely,”
DID YOU KNOW ……
Compared to a single cigarette, hookah smoke is known to contain higher levels of arsenic, lead, and nickel, 36 times more tar, and 15 times more carbon monoxide than cigarettes.
This is because smoking a hookah requires taking longer and harder drags, increasing levels of inhaled nicotine and carcinogens in the lungs. The longer the hookah session, the more nicotine and toxins one takes in.
A 45 to 60 minute hookah session can expose the smoker to approximately the same amount of tar and nicotine as one pack of cigarettes. Although you may be hanging out in a hookah bar, but not smoking, you are still exposed to secondhand smoke. If you do choose to use, remember that sharing mouthpieces without washing them can increase the risk of spreading colds, flu, and infections— even oral herpes.
